Southern Norway

In Southern Norway, Kristiansand you can view the wild coastlines, cute villages, and boat trips. Make your way into the wild and go hiking, mountain climbing, camping, or standup paddleboarding with your favorite person.

Mid-Norway

Mid-Norway is known for their mesmerizing fjords which is open for exploration by all adventuring couples who want to see the wonders of the last ice age or travel to Geiranger for once in a lifetime hiking experience. Some epic places here are the Preikestolen, Trollstigen, Trolltunga, Sognefjord and Hjørundfjord. The raw nature in this area is really stunning with fjords, mountains, waterfalls, forests and it has a very mystical vibe you’ll remember forever. And don’t forget to book one of the cute grass roofed cabins here!

Northern Norway

In the winter you can visit the Lofoten, that's located all the way in Northern Norway. Here you can discover wild valleys, tall peaks surrounding beautiful beaches, and capture the sights of the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) between September and March. You can go back in time by visiting the Lofotr Viking Museum in Borg that rebuild one of the oldest viking longhouses. Or you can visit Tromsø and go whale watching and dogsledding at Arctic Adventure tours to experience the real Sami culture. In the summer time between May and July the sun never sets, this time is called the Midsommar which means that the sunrise and sunset are very close to each other so you can enjoy one of the longest and most epic sunsets ever.

Can you legally get married in Norway! Yes, you can, but the process does take longer than if you married locally of course. Documentation will include:

●      Proof of citizenship in your country – passport and birth certificate

●      Find an officiant that’s willing to go out in nature for your wedding

●      A statement of a sponsor for each of you – someone who knows you

●      Follow the same steps as a Norwegian citizen

The legal process of eloping in Norway can take up to 4 months. Consider getting the legal work done at home in a small intimate setting and have your symbolic ceremony in Norway.

When is the Best Time to Elope in Norway?

The time of year is essential to choosing your elopement date and will be determined by who you are as a couple. Want to snuggle up in the snow with a hot chocolate while you watch the Northern lights or dog sledding? Well, then winter for you!

Let's explore the seasons of Norway:

●      Winter (December-March): The winter cold can be below freezing and can sometimes go down to -18°C/1°F. The plus side is that this is the optimum time to see the northern lights and there are fewer tourists around.

●      Spring (March-May): We love spring elopements in Norway! Expect snow-capped mountains in the early spring, waterfalls, and luscious green forests with wildflower blooms everywhere!

●      Summer (June-August): Head to Norway in the summer to experience the Midnight Sun (daylight for 24 hours). Summers do draw more tourists, but with so much raw land, there are plenty of secluded spots for you to say your vows.

●      Autumn (September-November): The crisp cool air in the fall and chances to see the northern lights is why eloping in the fall is a great choice!

Select A Location in Norway

Whether you choose to bask in the sun or have the moonlight shine down on you, the picturesque landscape of Norway will serve as a background that you will never forget. With raw landscapes, waterfalls, and a mystical vibe, there is no place as unique as Norway!

Your ceremony can consist of just you, your partner, your officiant, and your Norway elopement photographer. But you can also invite some of your closest family and friends for a unique experience together. This day is about you and whether you choose to keep the ceremony private or include others is totally up to you.

How to choose your location:

·       Do you and your partner prefer sandy beaches, thick and lush forests, or is it about the view from the mountaintops? Choose a spot that you feel is the most authentic to who you are, a type of landscape that you keep coming back to wherever you’re traveling to.

·       Are you bringing guests? Some loved ones may not be able to hike far or climb over rocks. Consider how many people are coming and their mobility.

·       Are you more of a road-trip or a mountain hiking kind of couple? Perhaps you both love to walk and see the wildlife. Choose a location based on what you want to do.

·       Hot – cold? What do you fancy? If you want to be catching a tan on a hot summer's day or snowboarding on the mountain peaks, the choice is yours!

Ceremony Ideas for Your Norway Elopement

Are you looking for a unique ceremony to perform during your Norway elopement? I've got you covered! There are many wonderful ways to honor this incredible milestone in your relationship:

Handfasting ceremony

The handfasting ceremony was originally practiced during the 16th and 17th centuries in Scotland. We all know the term "tie the knot." Well, it comes from the handfasting ceremony that symbolizes a union of two lovers bond together forever, even in the afterlife! It works by choosing meaningful colors that symbolize different promises you make to each other. You can use the ropes to tie knots around you and your partner's arms, wrists, and hands.

There are many ways to perform the ceremony, such as adding promises and a special drink to the ritual. It all depends on your preference. You may even have loved ones tie the knots around your arms. There isn't a perfect way to perform this Scottish unity ritual so do what feels right to you!

viking horns glacier elopement

Drinking from viking horns

Drinking from horns has been around for over 2,500 years and was practiced in many ancient cultures, such as the Celts, Greeks, Romans, and Scandinavians. Each culture from the past and present sees drinking horns as a special ritual. These horns can be made from bovine, glass, or metal. The ritual involves filling the horn with a hot or cold beverage and having both couples drink from it during the ceremony. It’s a fun activity to cheer for the day and it will give you cool photos to look back on.

Exchange rings and swords

Exchanging swords with the rings is an old Viking tradition. The groom will give the bride a sword that she can pass down to her future sons, and the bride gives the groom a sword to symbolize the security getting transferred from the father of the bride to the groom. This is a beautiful Norway tradition for eloping couples.

11 Best Elopement Locations in Europe in 2023

11 BEST ELOPEMENT LOCATIONS IN EUROPE IN 2023

Where can you elope in Europe?

You can elope anywhere in Europe except on private properties where you need the owner’s permission.

The most popular locations in Europe are Italy, Ireland and Iceland. Some countries need more paperwork than others based on what kind of ceremony you are having.

But you can elope in every country if you follow the official guidelines of every country or if you are having a symbolic ceremony with just your vows.

You can elope near a beautiful lake, in a town with cobblestones, at a gorgeous beach or on top of a mountain. It’s totally up to you. There are so many ideal places for a destination wedding or elopement.

elopement locations Europe

Yes, it is that easy to get married abroad. But I know how hard it is to actually choose a place for your wedding or elopement. I want to give you some elopement ideas.

Where is the best place to get married in Europe? Here are the top 11 best elopement locations in Europe.

 1. Norway

One of my personal favorite countries is of course Norway! If you like fjords, rocky cliffs, big mountains and unique coastal views then you have to elope in Norway.

Because Norway is a fairly big country with a small population there are so many elopement locations that are very underrated and undiscovered.

Everywhere you look in Norway there are mountains all around you. So make sure to avoid the most tourist spots because there are many other possibilities to be alone in nature. Or you can go there on a weekday.

The best locations in Norway are the Lofoten Islands, Aurland and Hardanger. The distance from North to South is pretty far, so if you decide to drive you should take into account that there are not many highways and it might take more time than you might think.

TIP: Winter elopements in Norway are also truly magical. Imagine waking up in a cute cabin in winter wonderland, have a first-look at sunrise then get some breakfast. Then meet the huskies and go dogsledding then have a picnic sitting on blankets with hot cocoa. Hike to a place with a sunset view for your vows and pop some champagne. Have a candle lit dinner before getting ready to chase the northern lights.

I’ve personally hiked in many locations so if you’re looking for a Norway elopement photographer with specialized packages, I would be super excited to help you plan.

Read more on my blog about How to Elope in Norway here.

2. The Faroe Islands

One of Europe’s best-kept secrets is the Faroe Islands. But when you see the epic pictures of this place, you immediately know why it’s just out of this world epic.

It’s actually called the island of the sheep and more sheep live there than people do. The raw landscape is shaped of steep cliffs, deep fjords, waterfalls and high mountains.

The best Faroe Islands elopement locations are Tórshavn, Gásadalur and Drangarnir. The raw landscapes here are truly incredible.

If you don’t mind the moody weather you can find the most unique places at the coastline. The old houses with the grass rooftops really makes you think about how rough life here must have been. The Vikings inhabited the Faroe Islands in the 8th century and you can still find the Norse settlements.

I would be thrilled to explore the Faroe Islands with you and capture you two in this amazing wild place.

3. Iceland

Starting with the most epic location in Europe! Iceland is very big and there are so many varieties of landscapes. You can’t go wrong here.

There are so many different places on Iceland to choose from like beautiful waterfalls, black beaches, ice caves, northern lights, blue lagoons, glaciers, big cliffs and epic mountains. You can even take a helicopter to get to a very intimate spot.

The most popular locations in Iceland are the black sand beach Reynisfjara near Vik, the Skógafoss waterfall and the Búdakirkja Black Church. But there are many other gorgeous secret locations hidden away in Iceland.

Get in contact if you’re looking for Iceland elopement photographer packages including help with planning your adventurous day.

4. Switzerland

You can’t miss out on this one! Switzerland is at the heart of Europe the perfect position for a honeymoon Europe trip.

Crystal blue lakes, amazing mountain peaks and luxury cabins that’s what makes Switzerland stand out.

Think of locations like Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald and Zermatt. Yet also think about all the blue secret lakes you can discover by doing a (small) hike because Switzerland has the best blue lakes!

Switzerland is also an ideal location for a winter wedding or elopement. If you’d imagine yourself skiing or snowboarding on your actual wedding day.

Or explore the epic mountains by taking a cable car and staying the night at one of the mountain hotels or cabins. Then you have the entire mountain to yourselves at sunrise and sunset because the cable cars only go during the day.

5. Ireland

The island feeling with the fresh wind in your face and being surrounded in the green landscape of Ireland.

If you’re into rugged cliffs, Celtic history, castle ruins, Irish pubs, green hills and fairytales this is the perfect location.

Most popular Ireland elopement locations are the Cliffs of Moher, Donegal, Dingle and the Giants Causeway in Northern Ireland.

If you love Irish pubs, beers and live music then mid & south Ireland are the best for you!

Imagine saying your vows in the green hills, then enjoying the sunset at the cliffs and ending the day at an old Irish pub drinking Guinness and dancing to folk music.

6. Scotland

The land of Outlander, Braveheart and Harry Potter. That magical feeling and vibe that Scotland has is very unique.

How about moody mountains, endless valleys, ancient ruins, old towns, magical castles and many whisky distilleries. All within driving reach of each other.

Beautiful places in Scotland are Loch Ness, Glencoe and Isle of Skye. Each location has so much to offer and they are perfect to visit all on a holiday trip.

At Loch Ness you can try to spot the monster. In Glencoe you can find many deer roaming around and you can end the day at a Scottish pub. At the Isle of Skye you can search for fairies near the beautiful waterfalls.

Read more about an adventure shoot in Glencoe, Scotland.

7. Sweden

There are so many folk tales of Sweden and it really gives this land a mystical feeling.

The most popular elopement locations are Stockholm, Swedish Lapland and the Icehotel.

Elopement packages Sweden

In the summer there are beautiful lakes, forests and big fields where you can get married.  The national park Fulufjället has a beautiful waterfall and there are moose and reindeer wandering all around the forests.

Yet in the winter you can get married at the Icehotel for a magical winter wonderland experience. How epic does that sound? So check out the website of Icehotel Sweden.

8. Austria

One of those countries that is totally underrated. Austria has that real Tiroler vibe with friendly people and the Alps are stunning.

The scenery of Austria consists of beautiful lakes, stunning mountain ranges, glaciers and valleys full of wildflowers.

Most visited places are Hallstatt, Vienna and Tyrol. They are all perfect for amazing wedding photos.

Right photo by Twintheworld

Austria’s high season is the winter season for skiing and snowboarding. The countryside is absolutely not busy in the summer so you can really get the chance to be alone in the mountains. You can take the sky lift and you get the most breath-taking views.

TIP: If you’re looking for a winter elopement or wedding, Austria is the cheapest place in Europe to ski and snowboard. And don’t forget the cosy vibe and après-ski schnapps.

9. The Dolomites

Yes, the most popular destination wedding location is Italy. The old cities really have that romantic vibe. If you love old towns, gorgeous lakes, unique mountains and Italian food this is the place for you.

The warm weather in the summer can be a little sweaty so Spring and Autumn are bettter seasons and have less tourists. Most of the lakes are extremely crowded with tourists and you can expect to stand in a line to take picture at a specific spot.

But if you like the outdoors, mountains and hiking then the Dolomites are great to find hidden locations that you can find if you put a little hiking effort in.

10. France

The land where all the lovers go for a romantic getaway is France. Even the language sounds like love.

You can elope in an old castle, a romantic city, on a beach and in the rustic countryside.

The most popular places in France are Paris, Côte d’Azur, Mont Saint Michel and Normandy.

Imagine getting married on a sunny summer day in France. Walking around a beautiful castle ruin with a gorgeous vineyard view. Just like these two did not far from Lyon.

Read more about an intimate wedding in the French countryside.

11. The Netherlands

When having an elopement abroad you might not immediately think of the Netherlands for your wedding destination but let me prove you otherwise.

There’s a lot of history still visible in the Netherlands. The best elopement locations are Amsterdam, Giethoorn, Kinderdijk and the Wadden Islands in the north.

For a city elopement in Amsterdam you can think about exploring the canals or taking a boat trip on the canals at night, which is very magical.

If you love windmills and authentic houses then Kinderdijk and Giethoorn are the best places. You can also get married in the tulip fields in Lisse or Flevoland.

There’s also lot’s of forests, lakes and beaches which are perfect for an intimate experience. The Wadden Islands are beautiful but on the main land there are also many hidden gems.

Read more about an adventure elopement in the Netherlands.

Whatever location in Europe you end up choosing, it’s up to you and you can make your dreams a reality. Make sure you get a good elopement photographer that will capture all the details of your day because your wedding day is absolutely worth it. This unique experience will be one to look back on for years to come!

Where is the easiest place to get married in Europe?

Denmark is the easiest place in Europe to get officially married for foreigners because the rules are very relaxed for different nationalities to get married there. In other European countries you can hire an officiant for your ceremony and they will guide you through the needed paperwork.

If you want to avoid the hassle you can get the paperwork done in your hometown before eloping in Europe for your symbolic elopement with an officiant or just a ceremony in nature with your written intimate vows.

How to elope?

You’re engaged!! It’s time to start planning your dream wedding but traditional weddings with the same standard set up is just so not “you”? Now you’re considering eloping but how do you actually elope?

WHAT IS AN ELOPEMENT? An elopement is an untraditional intimate wedding with just you two or up to 30 guests where you can do whatever you want on your wedding day.

Many couples don’t understand what an elopement is or don’t want to leave anyone out on their wedding day. That’s totally fine, just don’t let the expectations of others crush your most important day because your wedding day should be about you two!

Follow these 5 steps to Elope:

  1. Start by creating a mood board

  2. Decide where to elope

  3. Pick your elopement vendors

  4. Announce your elopement

  5. Have your dream elopement!

You’re in luck because planning an elopement is easier than planning a traditional wedding. Just follow these 5 simple steps and you’re ready to go!

Step 1. Start by creating a mood board

Adventure Elopement in the Netherlands How to elope?

The first thing to decide is what vibe you want your elopement. Are you drawn to that summer feeling or rather want those cosy winter vibes? Do you want to do your vows indoors or outdoors? Do you want to elope with just the two of you or is there room for some guests?

What colors do you absolutely love? Do you like a vintage, boho or adventurous style? Is there a specific activity that you really like to do on your wedding day? Like hiking, road-trip, kayaking, skiing, playing music, watch the sunset or having a picnic together in a field.

Step 2. Decide where to elope

Adventure elopement in the Netherlands how to elope

Now that you know what vibe you want on your elopement day, you can decide where you are going to elope. Do you picture your ceremony by a calm lake, windy beach, magical forest or epic mountains? Do you want it to be in your own country or travel and explore another country you wish to scratch off your bucket list?

A lot of couples plan their elopement in a country where they want to spent their honeymoon. So what honeymoon destination have you been dreaming about?

As an adventure photographer I love elopements in nature! You can find more elopement inspiration for locations on my blog for places like the Dolomites, Scotland or Norway.

Step 3. Pick your elopement vendors

Adventure elopement in the Netherlands how to elope

To make sure your day goes smoothly, you need to hire some awesome vendors who understand your vision. It’s so important to have like-minded people helping you plan your day because it takes all the stress off. Do you want to get married officially by an officiant or have a symbolical vow reading ceremony?

What’s important to you? The dress, flowers, photos, diner, cake, backdrop, hair or make-up? Find vendors that match your personal style, connect with them and tell them your vision. My elopement photography packages include local vendor recommendations that make it easier for you to pick.

Don’t limit yourself to traditional wedding things but think outside the box to make this a unique and once in a lifetime experience. As an adventure elopement photographer I specialize in making this unique day truly about you!

Step 4. Announce your Elopement

Adventure elopement in the Netherlands how to elope

When announcing your elopement, it’s important how you’re going to break the news to everyone. Some couples worry about this step because of the expectations of family and friends. Be confident in your decision and remember what you both find important.

Tell them before your elopement. You can tell people that you have been dreaming of an untraditional elopement because it’s more YOU than a traditional wedding. People will understand if you tell them your vision. You can even give a reception or BBQ party after you come back from your elopement to make it easier for them. You can also do a Skype call right after you eloped or do a livestream of the ceremony.

Tell them after your elopement. A lot of couples announce their elopement after they got hitched because they don’t want the pressure of others to influence their decision to elope. Follow your heart and do what feels most comfortable to you both. This day should be all about you two and your commitment to each other.

Step 5. Have your dream elopement!

Adventure elopement in the Netherlands how to elope

Yayyy you’re ready to make your dreams a reality! Book your vendors, tickets or transportation and count down the days to your elopement day.

Remember to take in the moments and enjoy every moment to the fullest. That’s what elopements are all about… just you two, the intimate moments and your unconditional love for each other.

 The Dolomites, Italy

When you don’t know where to start planning your elopement in the Dolomites.
Here’s everything you should know!

dolomites elopement photographer Amber Spits

How to decide on a date and place?

The Dolomites in northern Italy is a popular tourist location, so planning the right date and place is essential if you don’t want to end up in a crowd of people during your elopement.

Summer and winter season are the busiest in the Dolomites because it attracts tourists that want to go hiking and skiing. The busiest months to avoid are July/ August/ January/ February which luckily leaves enough room to pick a less busy month of the year.

If you do have your mind set on having your elopement in a busier month, you can have it at sunrise or less crowded weekdays. Most ski lifts are opening after 9 am (all year) so that’s when the crowds start coming up the mountains.

dolomites elopement photographer Amber Spits

Where in the Dolomites?

Imagine taking in the epic mountain view all around you. The most amazing mountains in the Dolomites are pretty close to each other and most are easy to get to by ski lifts.

There’s lots of options to choose from in the area and most are within short a driving distance. I personally love researching and finding amazing locations for my couples, that’s why I have a personal Location Ideas List included in my photography elopement packages and they will be based on the scenery of your dreams.

dolomites elopement photographer Amber Spits

What elopement vendors to choose?

Whether you want your elopement to be low key or fully styled choosing the right vendors is always hard. A good elopement vendor is open to your vision and ideas but also has the knowledge and experience to execute their service well, so you can enjoy your day without a worry.

In the Dolomites you can find a florist, officiant, hair stylist and make-up artist to help you on your day. A wedding photographer is also be important because your wedding day deserves to have every moment captured, so you can look back on every detailed moment of that day for years to come.

I believe it’s important to find a wedding photographer that you fit and connect with on a personal level. So you can have the time and space to have the most amazing and personal wedding day that is truly about you two without having to pose for photos.

Local vendor recommendations for your wedding location are included in my elopement photography packages. Just to give you some options and inspiration!

dolomites elopement photographer Amber Spits

How do you elope in Italy?

If you want to get legally married in the Dolomites you need to have an officiant and the legal documents to elope in Italy. You can have a civil or catholic ceremony and foreigners are also allowed to get married in Italy.

All you need do is submit paperwork and request the local government to have your ceremony outdoors with two witnesses. The legal ceremonies have to be conducted by a local mayor or government official.

For the paperwork you need your passport, birth certificate, affidavit and submit a declaration of intent to marry. Most couple want to avoid the hassle and get legally married at their hometown and have a symbolical ceremony in Italy instead.

Whatever you choose, a wedding day is about devoting your love to one another and that’s what matters most! Some people want to have their beloved family and friends witnessing their elopement day. While others choose for it to be with just the two of them.

Whatever your personal preference is, either way this day will be a very intimate and long lasting experience for you both.

dolomites-elopement-photographer-Amber-Spits3.jpg

What to do on your elopement day in the Dolomites?

You can have an elopement adventure! If you like hiking and exploring, there are so many amazing sights in the Dolomites.

Most couples like to hike up a mountain in their wedding attire or change in their wedding clothes at the top of the mountain. And other couples like to do a picnic at a beautiful lake.

To make the ceremony special you can read out vows for each other and exchange rings. Whether you want traditional or personalized vows, it will definitely be an intimate and emotional moment for you two.

After the ceremony you can pop some champagne and make a toast to starting your life together. Do you have a special song together? Because you can still have your first dance together even if its outdoors or at the restaurant later. I can bring my music speaker and play your favorite song.

At the end of your day you can look back on the day while fine dining in an amazing Italian restaurant. (And it’s the best in the world) Or even have a small after party with cuddles by the fire place. That’s the fun of elopements, you can literally create a day filled with the things you love doing together!

Have you ever been to Norway?

If not, don’t miss out on this amazing country! If you like mountains, fjords, lakes, forests, history, fairytales and mysteries. This is the place for you. I have been to Norway many times as my parents used to go there on summer holidays. Yes we we’re the type of family that love hiking and exploring on holidays! ;)

This is where my passion for hiking and planning trips started.

And this year during my trip to Norway with my boyfriend and dog, it all came together. I did many shoots while visiting some new places and revisiting places of my childhood memory! And I have so many stories to tell and memories to share with you.

The Atlantic road is an extreme road hopping over many small islands with a total of 8 bridges. (In norway it is called the “Atlanterhavsveien”.) This road is known to be the most beautiful drive. This place is so remote and it really feels like you’re at the end of the world. Some people like driving it when there is a storm because the wind will spray the seawater on the roads. And it really makes for an epic location to do an elopement or engagement session at. And I have lots of recommendations in the area for some quiet spots and accommodations!

Thomas and Julianne are so in love, that is completely obvious. We explored, laughed and drove over the amazing Atlantic road in Norway. We explored the trails along the road and we’re blown away by the beautiful views and of course the extreme winds haha! Julianne was so brave in the cold wind with her summer dress on, luckily Thomas was there to keep her warm. We we’re hoping for a sunset and eventually it did come for a short 5 minutes and it gave us some beautiful sun-soaked photos at the end! Overall it was breathtaking. I mean really, my photos don’t do it justice. I am dying to explore more of beautiful Norway and Scandinavia!

Wild Glencoe Adventure Session - Scotland Elopement Photographer

Wild Glencoe adventure session - Scotland elopement photographer

Dominique and Scott

These two adventurous souls are really into hiking and the outdoors. One day they both individually decided to do a hike some place. And during this lonesome hike they crossed paths and decided to keep each other company for the hike up the mountain. When they got back down to the parking lot they never parted ways… How cute is that for a love story?

They actually got engaged at the top of the Devil’s Staircase hike in Glencoe. So of course Glencoe was the perfect place for their engagement session. But the morning of the session it was raining so bad we decided to take the car down to Glen Etive where the weather decided to clear up for a bit. We had so much fun exploring Glencoe together! Dominique was really badass wearing summer dresses in the cold rain and Scott showed off his lifting skills in every possible way! Can’t wait to meet up with these two again next time we’re in beautiful Scotland!

It was a great day in early November with some fog and rain. It really gave the landscape a mysterious feeling and that "Scottish” look to it. The mountain tops we’re covered in a little bit of snow in this time of year. I visited many places in Scotland but I always keep coming back to Glencoe for the vibe and endless hiking possibilities!

TIP FOR ADVENTUROUS COUPLES:

If you decide to have an adventure session or elopement in a beautiful location, consider making your special day into a small road trip! You don’t have to narrow it down to one spot, it’s fun to spend time in several destinations throughout the day. Explore different spots and have an adventure together. If you love hiking and sightseeing, make your elopement into something that’s fun for the two of you to experience together. And relive every moment of it later!

Almost every year I’m traveling to Scotland in October so please ask me about my travel dates and let’s meet up for an adventure together! xx Amber

Intimate wedding in the french countryside | France elopement photographer

Intimate wedding in the french countryside

France

Lisa & Rogier

Two families came together for a whole weekend wedding. They stayed in a beautiful old farmhouse together to celebrate the love of these amazing souls. They had a very intimate ceremony in a lush field. After the ceremony we drove together to Chateau d’Arlay, where we had an amazing time at the old ruins. Around every corner there was a good photo spot and we had the castle all to ourselves! Lisa baked her own wedding cake and did most of the decorations herself and everything matched their theme.

There are so many beautiful typical french towns and orchards in the area of Lyon. Even in the summer time it is not crowded at all and you can find a lot of good spots to have all to yourself. Temperatures are not too hot and the weather is overall sunny in summertime. I would definitely recommend France for your elopement or intimate wedding!

Magical Castle Wedding | Dutch Wedding Photographer

Magical Castle Wedding at Singraven

Alessandra and Mike

This big international wedding was so magical! The locations the Wilmersberg and Singraven Denekamp were both flawless. And ofcourse the flowers, decoration, cake and dresses were absolutely stunning! But what really stood out was the couple and their unconditional love for each other. It really shows love has no boundaries because making a long distance relationship work between the Netherlands and the south of Germany over so many year is extremely hard! I have so much respect for that! Two families came together in Denekamp to celebrate their wedding day and they definitely did not sit still at the end of the day!

22nd june 2018

I met with them in a café in Hengelo and they told me all about their relationship and their dog. I could not help but compare it to my own relationship because there we’re so many similarities. So I was so pumped to be at their wedding! The ceremony took place at the city hall of Enschede which has a beaufitul mosaic room which gives it a warm and unique look. After that we went to the estate of Hof Espelo where we had some beautiful light in the forest. And the party was at Twents Proeflokaal Hengelo where I ate too much and stayed too long :)
